Thank you for sharing, Jeanne. Buddhism is something that has resonated with me as well. Buddhist philosophy is a heavy influence on my own encounters with Nature. I like those final words of the Buddha: "You must work out your own salvation."
Neil, although I'm not familiar with the details of your affinity for and connection with Korea, I assume that offered some exposure to Buddhism for you. And I can see that resonance in your posts and photos. I enjoy them so much!
Wonderful piece. Trees are our little gods. Buddha under the Bodhi tree always reminds me of Hermann Hesse's Siddhartha. And although I am not a practicing Buddhist, there's is not doubt bout the philosophy's impact on me. And obviously I am not alone.
Thank you for sharing that, David! Hermann Hesse’s “Siddhartha” was the first Buddhist book I read, in high school. It blew a fresh wind through my mind.
How wonderful, the Buddha under all those trees. I dearly love the images you have chosen to represent this essay. Happy Vesak to you, dear Jeanne.
Thank you so much, Janisse! 💚

Thanks, Jeanne. I will have to write about that some time. I do miss the Buddha's Birthday being a holiday in Korea and visiting the temples.
Yes, please do write about that sometime!
I remember this one, and it's well worth repeating, especially for those who missed it the first time.
Thank you, Jim!
Thank you for re-posting this, Jeanne.
The light in me honors the light in you🙏

Happy Vesak, dear Jeanne! What a wonderful reminder of the terraphlia of Buddhist teachings. Thank you. Blessings to you.
Blessings to you too, my friend! And … yes! The Buddha practiced terraphilia!
Enchanting. Happy Vesak, Jeanne!
Thank you, Amy!
