what a gorgeous interview and what a deep range of understanding. I love Rebecca's emphasis on Awe, and her trust as she states " I am certain that nature has the answer to almost any question I have, if I look and listen". Thank you for this wonderful work.
How interesting! I like what she says about encountering nature everywhere. My yard is full of squirrels and birds(despite the best efforts of my evil cat) and I love to watch and hear them.
Excellent interview Jeanne and thanks for sharing about Rebecca's work. I like her point about "how many moments of everyday awe are available to us in accessible nature, whether that is in our own yards, in a park down the street, or a container garden grown on a balcony."
I think that has been one of my realizations that past few years as well. I don't need to wait until my late summer camping trip to a Provincial Park once a year. I can enjoy and appreciate Nature daily. Whether it is a tree outside my window, wildlife encounters on my weekened hikes, or taking care of the spider plants in my apartment.
And I loved the pics too!
Wow, just Wow! What a “get” for an interview! Really enjoyed it; thought provoking, too! Thank you both!

Her answers are impressively insightful. I really enjoyed this one.
I'm so glad to virtually meet Rebecca O'Connor, a falconer & an environmentalist. Knowing she's at work in the world is a boost.
So encouraging to see this post even if its late.
Thank you all for you wonderful comments and Jeanne for forcing me to articulate why I do what I do. :-)
So encouraging to read about folks like Rebecca.

Wonderful! I enjoyed reading about her work and hearing the philosophies that underlie it. Thanks for this!
