This definition of beauty really helps me. I’ve known my words are intimacy and beauty - also the two things I struggle most to open to - but this definition of beauty adds so much clarity. I meant to start doing this the last time you wrote about it, hopefully this time I actually will!
That's wonderful, Karen! I know you as someone who recognizes beauty in the natural world so readily .... and shares it with others. Thank you for that!
It's like some part of me is completely drawn to beauty in the way you describe - an intimate beauty. And another part of me refuses to really open to it and FEEL it. We are such weird creatures, humans.
I love this concept! I can totally relate to all you said about your initial reaction to "beauty" as a value but then realizing by your definition, it is not shallow at all. What a great daily practice. Thank you for sharing this.
I love that you have redefined the pursuit of beauty from something that is stereotypically seen as superficial to something that spiritually enriches you life and brings you deeper into the present. Such a motivation to seek out unexpected beauty!

I think there are parts of us afraid to open to the depths of beauty, in fear that it would completely overwhelm us.
OMG. So helpful. I'm totally going to do this.
Yay!

You're welcome, Dakota -- and thanks so much for your support!
Certainly! We nature lovers have to stick together. :)

And I love how you succinctly boiled the whole idea down to one perfect sentence, Isabelle. That's IT, exactly. 😊 Thank you!
Love this Jeanne❤️
You know about moments of beauty in the natural world, Lisa .... and I saw you photographing them just the other day! 💚
That tiny fern found growing inside an old bottle half-buried in mud. ❤️
I still have it. It's like a terrarium. I hope to keep it alive.
This was an awesome post. Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you!
I'm so glad you're doing it, Betsy!
