I believe now! This was absolutely delightful. Just what I needed in this week of heat and gloom. A bit of fairy magic. Thanks, Jeanne.

You're welcome, my dear friend!

Love these little fairies! And the poem...is that yours? I think you may be one who read or heard my fairy sighting story. Magic is real and the Fairie Folk will show up for their own reasons.

The poem is not mine, alas. It's from the 17th century. Seems that faeries have been around for a looooong time!

Fairies. for a long time...yes...from the beginning. It's our buildings and metal that have driven them further away. Your home looks like it is in an area where many of them still flourish. :)

Seeing is believing.

You worked at Findhorn ? That is so wonderful!

Expand full comment

I wish! No, I worked at a magazine (The Mother Earth News) and we published articles about Findhorn in the magazine. I've never even been there, but would like to visit!

Oh! Well, Mother Earth News is also great!

Have you been to the Bullington Gardens Fairy Trail? They keep it up only during the summer. So worth a magical visit!

Wow, thank you, Tricia! I did not know about that; I'll check it out. Sounds fun!

It is in Hendersonville, NC and it is free to visit. Beautiful over all gardens, but I especially love the fairy trail.

Oh, so close! Next time I go up to the Village Bakery in Flat Rock for a pizza lunch, I'll tack on a visit to this place. Thanks again!

Last night, I watched a rerun of Rudy Manke's Nature Scene on our local PBS channel. I was delighted to see that he and his companion Jim were poking around Burrell's Ford on the Chattooga River. Several years ago, my friend Meg poked around there and climbed the hillside to visit Spoonauger Falls. Before we reached the top, we stopped in amazement. Fairies! The ferns dangling from the rocks were just right... the mystical magical location was just right... we both looked at each other and said, "Fairies live here, don't they..." And now, we know another place not too far away where fairies can be found! ;-) Thank you, Jeanne - this is glorious!

It's good to know they're among us, isn't it, Kathy? Love it!

Enchanting! The fairy circle is both beautiful and uncanny at once. I love the fairy figurines you have placed there, and how you and your husband visit and pause at the circle. Surely the fairies appreciate this attentiveness.

There are areas where I've walked in the past and certain places I walk now that I am pretty sure fairies visit.

Thank you, Jenny! I'm glad you can sense the presence of fairies, too. 😊

This is lovely. It slowed my brain and inspired me to take a deeper breathe. I love the little ceramic fairies.
